Akshay is an engineering leader and inventor specializing in precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, and complex equipment design. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he has contributed to cutting-edge innovations at Atomic Machines, Applied Materials, and ASML.
Akshay’s journey began at IIT Bombay, where he conducted research in micro-scale 3D printing before pursuing his master’s at MIT and collaborating closely with Prof. Alex Slocum. At ASML, he worked on enhancing the throughput and reliability of reticle stages in advanced lithography systems during the global chip shortage. He later joined the CTO Office at Applied Materials, leading the development of precision delivery systems for molten lithium metal in next-generation EV battery electrode manufacturing.
Currently, Akshay leads the design of 3D metrology systems for MEMS devices at Atomic Machines, a stealth-mode startup pioneering new methods in microscale fabrication.
He holds multiple patents related to lithography and manufacturing automation, and his contributions have been recognized with awards including the MIT Great Dome Award. Akshay is known for combining deep technical expertise with a passion for scalable, real-world innovation.
