    Dr. Joel Li is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cosmos Innovation, an AI-first company accelerating process development across the semiconductor and solar industries.

    Joel earned his Ph.D., Ph.D. Minor, and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, where he developed expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and solar energy. With more than a decade of leadership, he has partnered with Tier-1 companies across the US, Europe, China, and Southeast Asia. His innovations have been internationally awarded, published in IEEE, recognized by global leaders, and licensed to world-class manufacturers.

    At Cosmos Innovation, Joel was instrumental in the creation of Mobius, the industry’s first AI recipe optimization platform, which has delivered a 10x acceleration in process development for solar and semiconductor technologies. Cosmos Innovation has also been recognized globally, including being named to the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers 2024—a prestigious community of startups with transformative potential, whose alumni include Google, Airbnb, Spotify, and Twitter.

    In addition to his role at Cosmos, Joel serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council, contributing thought leadership on harnessing emerging technologies to shape the future. He is also an Adjunct Faculty at the National University of Singapore, where he teaches AI theory, applications, and its societal implications.
