Kiran Karunakaran is the Chief Technology Officer of Via Automation, bringing over 25 years of experience across multiple industries, including semiconductor, industrial automation, healthcare, and enterprise software. In his current role, Kiran leads the development of Via Framework using advanced digital twin technologies specifically designed for the semiconductor industry. His team focuses on utilizing knowledge graphs and AI-driven digital twin solutions to enable seamless data integration, dynamic process monitoring, and accurate representation of semiconductor manufacturing operations.
In his earlier career in the semiconductor domain, Kiran served as a software architect at Novellus Systems (now Lam Research), where he developed software solutions for deposition and CMP tools, contributing to the advancement of next-generation semiconductor technologies. His work included the creation of statistical process control (SPC) and run-to-run control tools, providing him with a deep understanding of the complex data integration and real-time monitoring requirements in semiconductor manufacturing.
Kiran holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kerala, a Master's in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MBA from the University of California, Davis.
