    Vidyut (Vid) Gopal is Associate Director of Partnerships for Intermolecular® services at EMD Electronics, the Electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. In his current role, Vid is dedicated to expanding Intermolecular’s industry partnerships with the objectives of accelerating lab to fab transitions for customers, enabling first-mover advantages in disruptive technologies through innovative collaborations, and actively engaging with the dynamic startup ecosystem in the Bay Area.
    With nearly three decades of experience, Vid has worked in key roles across various high-tech industries, showcasing a strong aptitude for technology development and customer engagement. Previously, as Senior Manager of Technical Programs at Intermolecular Inc., Vid has spearheaded collaborative technology development programs in NVM (such as RRAM, PCRAM, and OTS), DRAM, wearable electronics, and quantum computing, forging long-term partnerships and ensuring the success of these programs, and consistently delivering innovative solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Additionally, Vid has significant expertise in materials R&D and technology integration from his tenures at Spansion (the NOR Flash Memory joint venture of AMD and Fujitsu), Applied Materials, Crystal Solar, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
    He holds a PhD in Materials Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN and a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
