PRAKASH R. KOTA, PhD, is the Founder & CEO of MLPowersAI, Inc., a technology venture focused on deploying custom machine learning (ML) models for the chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and industrial process industries (Email: mlpowersai@gmail.com).
Prakash holds a PhD (1993) and MS (1990) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and a BE (1989) in Chemical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. He has more than 30 years of international experience spanning process engineering, technology development, and operational strategy across both corporate and startup environments. His career has bridged technical innovation and business leadership, with a focus on translating complex engineering problems into scalable industrial solutions.
He is associated with the University at Albany both as an Adjunct Lecturer in Financial Economics and as an Executive MBA candidate, where his academic research explores the adoption of AI/ML in business and industrial settings. By combining teaching, research, and industry practice, he works at the intersection of engineering, AI/ML, and business strategy.
His recent work centers on business ML (BML) and process ML (PML) frameworks, with a focus on practical deployment and industrial adoption. These frameworks are designed to bridge the gap between data-driven machine learning models and the operational needs of real-world manufacturing and financial systems. In the semiconductor sector, his research has demonstrated proof-of-concept frameworks for real-time plasma etch rate control using neural network surrogate models coupled with evolutionary optimization. This work highlights a path toward intelligent, closed-loop manufacturing systems.
Prakash regularly shares thought leadership, case studies, and live technical demonstrations at mlpowersai.com, prakashkota.com, and models.mlpowersai.com.
