Matt began his career with Intel in 2000 as an engineer within Intel’s Assembly Test Capital Equipment Development group and then the Component Automation Systems (CAS) group. While in CAS, he led the AMHS conversion of Fab 12 when that facility converted from 200mm to 300mm wafer processing. In 2006, Matt joined Fab Sort Manufacturing (FSM) in Fab 23 in Colorado Springs before moving within FSM to Ocotillo Arizona in 2007. During his time in FSM’s Ocotillo Technology Fabrication organization, he worked in production and manufacturing roles for the 1266, 1268, 1270 and 1272 technology ramps. From January 2019 until November 2023, Matt served as an Ocotillo Factory Manager. As factory manager, Matt oversaw the 22nm and 14nm technologies before leading the conversion of the Ocotillo site’s Fab 12, Fab 22, and Fab 32 facilities from 14nm to 10nm technology. While in the factory manager role, Matt was promoted to Vice President. In November 2023, Matt joined the Intel’s Foundry Construction Enterprise team and has overseen the construction and tool install activities for the Costa Rica, New Mexico, and Ocotillo campuses.
Prior to joining Intel, Matt held design, manufacturing and project engineering positions at Caterpillar, Inc. and Honeywell International, formerly AlliedSignal.
Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Matt also received a Master’s degree in Engineering Systems and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Leaders For Manufacturing Fellow with a focus in Operations Management.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Jaime, and their son Colton. He also enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, biking, and climbing.
