Director of Test Engineering
Marvell
Dr. Hsu Hao (Andy) Chang is Director of Test Engineering at Marvell’s Broadband Analog Division, where he leads new product introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) for silicon photonics, driver ICs, and TIAs. His team manages millions of die per month through OSAT partners while developing advanced wafer-scale test platforms for 56 Gbd, 112 Gbd, and next-generation 224 Gbd devices.
Dr. Chang’s career combines deep technical expertise with large-scale execution. At Marvell, he implemented the company’s first high-volume silicon photonics wafer screening system and introduced production-ready CPO engine testers. His technical portfolio spans device design and process fabrication, probe card architecture, signal integrity analysis, and automated wafer-level testing.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Chang contributed to several world-first innovations, including the 1310 nm hybrid silicon laser, integrated triplexers, and advanced terahertz transmitters. He has also driven industry collaborations with Advantest, Teradyne, Formfactor, Technoprobe, Keysight, MPI and other partners to advance wafer-level testing capabilities and yield improvement strategies.
Dr. Chang earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, under Professor John Bowers, focusing on hybrid silicon photonic integration. He has published extensively in leading journals and conferences and is a frequent contributor to technical forums such as OFC and SWTest. His ongoing work continues to shape best practices in scaling photonics and high-speed interconnects—such as 400G driver/TIA solutions—from research concepts to volume production.
