This talk from Silex Microsystems shares a view of emerging MEMS and sensors technology, as seen from the world’s leading pure-play MEMS Foundry. Traditional MEMS markets such as automotive, consumer electronics, and health care continue to evolve in new and exciting ways – several examples of which will be presented. But what is especially exciting to Silex is seeing MEMS technologies being adopted in some of the fastest growing and new markets, such as telecom, augment reality and virtual reality (AR/VR), quantum, photonics, and especially artificial intelligence (AI). As AI becomes increasing present in our lives, MEMS sensors play the critical role of providing the real-world data these AI models need. Just like our senses provide data to our brains, MEMS are now the Synthetic Senses that perceive the world for Artificial Intelligence. Several examples of this Synthetic Perception will be discussed and future opportunities presented.
