Daehan Won received his B.S. (2008) and M.S. (2010) in Industrial Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea, and his Ph.D. (2016) in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle. He joined Binghamton University in 2016, where he is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Won’s research focuses on large-scale optimization, mathematical programming, and data analytics with applications in healthcare and manufacturing. He develops decision-making models, algorithms, and intelligent systems to address complex, real-world problems. His recent work includes designing smart electronics manufacturing platforms to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0/5.0, as well as advancing health informatics and biomedical engineering through data-driven decision support.
Dr. Won has authored over 90 publications, including in the INFORMS Journal on Computing, IEEE Transactions on CPMT, and IEEE Intelligent Systems. His research has been supported by industry leaders such as Koh Young Technology, Analog Devices, Lattice Semiconductor, and Best Buy, along with national initiatives like the NSF and NBMC.
