Dr. Mark C. Johnson is a Senior Lecturer in the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and serves as Associate Director for Design in Purdue University's Semiconductor Degree Program. After working in industry from 1983 to 1994 at Boeing Airplane Company and Thomson Consumer Electronics, he earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue in 1998. He began his academic career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (1998–1999) before returning to Purdue in Fall 1999.
Dr. Johnson’s professional interests include ASIC/SoC design, design automation, and engineering education. At Purdue, he has contributed extensively to curriculum development, lecturing, laboratory instruction, and mentoring student design projects. His current focus is on workforce development in semiconductor design, where he integrates academic rigor with industry-relevant experience.
